Wild Venison steak is a fantastic cut of meat and a real treat. Rich in iron and protein but low in fat it makes a great healthier alternative to beef. Full of flavour and very lean, perfect with berries and fruit flavours.  It can be simply served as Venison steak with chips or dressed up with an array of herbs and spices to make it that little bit extra special, either way it is delicious.  Great for frying, grilling and BBQ.

Venison Steak is best served rare to medium rare and it is important not to over cook.  For a simple medium rare steak season each side of the steak with Black Pepper and fry in a hot pan for 4 to 5 minutes either side, leave to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Try serving with Sweet Potato wedges and Seasonal Vegetables. Venison go very well with these herbs and spices:-  Allspice, Cardamom, Ground Cumin, Cinnamon, Cayenne Pepper, Cloves, Chilli Powder, Coriander Leaves, Dill, Garlic, Ginger, Juniper Berries, Lemon, Nutmeg, Onion, Oregano, Parsley, Rosemary, Star Anise and Thyme.
